My why.

I heard an interesting Instagram story today that really hit a chord with me. Before I decided to start learning about photography and opened my family photography business in Arizona, way back when I started college, I used to blog. Throughout the years I have done it off and on, and even during those "off" times, I felt the pull to come back to the keyboard. The hardest thing about blogging for me was that I always felt this pressure of not being good enough, not funny enough, not popular enough.

But listening to the Instagram story today reminded me why I started blogging in the first place. It wasn't to show people how great I am or tell jokes or become famous. It was because I loved writing. I loved story telling and taking pictures and sharing my life, even if no one read about it. It's the same reason that I love social media - it's such an accessible way to journal and leave my legacy.

After having Huck, that need to blog and share my story increased exponentially, but I wasn't sure where to start. After deciding to really pursue photography, it became a way for me to blog again. I'm still trying to find the balance between business and personal blogging, but I think that will just come with time. For now, a jumble of sessions and personal posts will have to do (hashtag sorry not sorry)!
