I don’t post about them often, but extended family photography in Gilbert is such a huge part of family photo season for me! There is something so special about getting everyone together and documenting all of the personalities and connections within a big family.
And I think this might be the best styled extended family session I’ve ever photographed!
Gilbert Extended Family Photos at the Riparian Preserve
This is one of my very favorite spots for Gilbert extended family photos, especially when I’m photographing a larger group. There is SO much shade, which is a dream here in Arizona, but the light still comes through the trees in the prettiest way.
You almost get a little golden-hour glow right in the middle of the day!
The combination of the beautiful greenery, soft light, and all of their outfits made this session so much fun to photograph. I love when a family puts thought into what they wear but still feels completely like themselves.
Family Photos at Gilbert Riparian Preserve
As a Gilbert Arizona family photographer, I love photographing families at the Riparian Preserve because there are so many different little pockets of beautiful light and greenery. It gives larger families plenty of variety without having to go far.
And honestly, one of my favorite parts of family photos at Gilbert Riparian Preserve is all the little in-between moments.
Looking back at these photos had me cracking up at some of the silly things the kids were doing while we were taking pictures. But THAT is exactly why I love family photography.
I don’t want every photo to be perfectly posed with everyone looking at the camera. I want to capture the personalities, the giggles, the weird little faces, and all the things that make your kids them right now.
Because someday, those silly moments are going to be the photos you look back on and smile at.
And that is one of my favorite things about photographing families.
